Biography

Welcome! I'm Salamatu Khadar, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a deep passion for supporting individuals on their mental health journey through compassion, respect, and evidence-based care.

I work with clients across the lifespan—from children to older adults—representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Many of my clients face acute psychiatric disorders, crises, and substance use challenges. Their goals often include strengthening coping and decision-making skills, restoring meaningful relationships, and regaining a sense of stability and purpose in life. I strive to provide an environment that promotes behavioral change, fosters healing, and supports each client's path toward personal growth and a more fulfilling life.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals from all walks of life as they navigate psychological challenges. This work has been incredibly enriching and has deepened my admiration and respect for the resilience of the human spirit. I firmly believe that mental health is universal—we are all vulnerable to it, and seeking help is a powerful step in breaking down the stigma that still surrounds it.
